How pairing works
Ask for one
Tick "pair me with a pen pal" when you join, then answer the short questionnaire below so we know who to pair you with: near or far, how often, and what you like to talk about.
We make the match
Pairings go out with the envelope at the start of each quarter. You'll get your pen pal's first name, mailing address, and a first prompt, printed on a card.
Write back
One letter a month is plenty. Use the writing paper in your envelope, or come to a letter-writing night and do it with company.

Be kind, be curious
You're writing to a real person who was brave enough to sign up. Lead with questions.
Keep it to the mail
Addresses stay between the two of you. No selling, no recruiting, no adding anyone to a list.

Kids write too
Kids' envelopes can include a kid pen pal, always paired through a parent's membership and addressed care of the parent. It's like a play date on paper.
